Democratic candidate in Florida’s 10th Congressional District, Bob Hackworth, signed the ServeNext Pledge to Expand National Service on July 2, 2008.
Bob Hackworth was elected to the Dunedin City Commission in 2002, won election to a second term in 2005, and was elected mayor in 2006.
Hackworth has been recognized and awarded for leading the redevelopment of downtown Dunedin, expanding and recognizing human and civil rights and implementing environmental initiatives throughout Florida.
“For the last seven years, as an elected representative in Dunedin I’ve been a leader in an effort to build a great community. Few will argue that we in Dunedin have done a very good job of community building.”
With his success in building cities throughout Florida, a pledge to expand membership of AmeriCorps while increasing funding for the Peace Corps and Senior Corps, looks to be secure promise in Hackworth’s campaign.
